Scottish and Irish Festival

Two days of the sights, sounds and spectacles.  The festivities begin with the Scotland and Ireland Kick-off event Friday night at 9pm in the Trolley Stop Pub. Weekend festival performers on two stages include Searson, Brother, Na Bodach, The Sean Flemming Band, Emish, Neil Emberg, The Malones and The Pocono Highland Dancers.  In addition to the music there are various Scottish and Irish vendors with jewelry, crafts, specialty foods and clothing, plus pipe band performances throughout the weekend. Festival hours are 10am-10pm Saturday and 10am-5pm Sunday.  Rain or shine. Saturday tickets are $15/adults, $8/kids 12 and under. Sunday tickets are $10/adults, $5/kids 12 and under.  Super Saver tickets for both days are  $20/adults, $10/kids 12 and under.

This is the perfect time to learn which improvements to make first and how exactly to do it before the winter weather is upon us. Get hands-on experience with gadgets that you can buy from your local hardware store including insulation, light bulbs, weather stripping, programmable thermostats, etc. that you can install to lower your own carbon footprint and your energy bill. Scranton Limited Short Train Ride

The Scranton Limited Short Train Ride is a three mile round trip, which lasts about 30 minutes.  The train ride will be offered on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.  The ride will also operate on Mondays and Tuesdays (with a diesel locomotive) in July and August 2008 only; the rides will not operate on Mondays and Tuesdays during the rest of the 2008 season.  Tickets to ride this train cost $3 per person, all ages 6 and older.

10 am - 3 pm, At the Wallenpaupack High School Gym, Pa Route 6 East of Hawley across from the Mobile Mart. Admission is $2.00, proceeds to benefit the Wallenpaupack Area High School Buckhorn Band. Children under 12 Free. The Craft Fair features top notch artisans and fine crafters, live holiday entertainment, and plenty of good food. There will be a Children's Craft Corner.
